* Scholarship & Expertise (as reflected in dissertation & to be published work) lies in investigating ethics: the clash (or harmony) of cultural standards with individual values (or ways of being)

* Extensive review of the Social Psychology literature and own research suggests that emotion is the result of this conflict, this clash, and that depression may be the cumulative result

* Developed an approach, after ten years of inquiry and intensive study, that allows people to pinpoint the locus, the root, of conflict in their own lives, and to discover for themselves an exit route, an escape hatch, a way out of their conflict

* With help, insight, and expertise, this discovery is easy for the client; applying this knowledge, however, is the client’s greatest challenge.

* Warm and encouraging style: Having walked the same path as clients, can easily remember and empathize with the difficulty of translating knowledge into action
